I'm a dynamic, results-oriented executive with over two decades of experience centered on technology innovation, business strategy, executive management, and corporate development who is effective at managing cross-functional teams within a global setting and building strong organizational culture.
Specifically, I have over 21 years of experience with the design, development, and commercialization of advanced sensors and systems for process control and field applications within multiple industries.
While my primary focus continues to be technology and intellectual property development, I have a strong program, operations, and supply-chain management background with extensive financial and business development expertise.
After founding a high-tech startup in the Utility sector during Graduate School, where I served as VP of R&D, I went on to found and/or acquire six (6) additional companies, where I've served as CSO, CTO, COO, and CEO.
Additionally, I was the founding Chair of the Applied Industrial Optics (AIO) Division of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and currently serve on a number of industrial advisory boards in the photonics industry.
With respect to my education, I was both a National Science Foundation NSF-STC and a Charles E. Minor doctoral fellow at Virginia Tech, in addition to an ARCS Foundation and DOW Chemical Scholar at Texas Tech. I hold a B.S. in Chemistry from Texas Tech University with minors in Physics and Mathematics and a Masters of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Materials Science & Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Professionally, I've secured millions in federal funding, facilitated numerous joint ventures, and received dozens of US and international patents, primarily in the Environmental, Pharmaceutical, and Energy market sectors.
