Author
Area of Expertise:
femtosecond laser , all solid state laser , LASIK , laser tissue interaction
Profile Summary

Professor Hui Sun grew up in China and received his M.S. degree in Optics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002, and a PhD in physics from the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, Germany in 2006. From 2006 to 2011, he did his postdoc training at University of California Irvine, USA. He is currently a full professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research centers on all solid state femtosecond laser and femtosecond laser eye surgery research. His group is currently focused on ytterbium(Yb) all solid state femtosecond laser which operate near 1030 nm and is useful for cornea and lens surgery. His group is also studying fundamental interactions of high-intensity femtosecond laser with eye tissues.
