While the wireless sensor network technology does exist, the usefulness of this technology has not yet been proven. A small scale implementation of the wireless sensor network will pave the way to a larger scale project that can take full advantage of the capabilities of the sensors. Additionally, a small scale implementation can prove that the wireless sensor network does have useful functionality in most environments. This paper will also provide a basis for any other application that will attempt to use this technology in the future. Bluetooth has been found to be the most favorable protocol for short range wireless sensor networks. Bluetooth is a low cost, low power, short range wireless IEEE 802.11 standard that allows varied device to talk to each other. SAW devices prove to be excellent sensors due to their high sensitivity to the physical environment. In this paper, we implement a temperature sensor. In order to enable communication of a wireless sensor network we use the universal specification-Bluetooth.
