Dr. Mielke is a globally recognized leader in the field of optics and lasers, with expertise spanning fundamental research, intellectual property, commercial product development, manufacturing, and applications. He joined Raydiance in its infancy and has helped build the company from incubator stage to market leader in precision laser micro-fabrication solutions. Dr. Mielke has been awarded 12 U.S. and international patents. He has published 19 refereed journal and proceedings articles and has performed more than 40 technical presentations at major optics and interdisciplinary conferences around the world. Dr. Mielke actively supports the optics and photonics field by serving on the Optical Society of America (OSA) Public Policy Committee, the Advanced Solid State Lasers (ASSL) Conference program committee, the CLEO Industrial Innovations Subcommittee, the Laser Microprocessing Committee for ICALEO, and the Photonics West Program Committee on Frontiers in Ultrafast Optics: Biomedical, Scientific and Industrial Applications. He is also Associate Editor for the IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics. Dr. Mielke earned his BS in Physics from the University of Florida and his PhD in Optics from CREOL at the University of Central Florida.
