John Dexheimer has advised on over 100 completed company financings and mergers in electronics-optics, software, communications, advanced materials and related services. Since 1993 he has been principally involved in the photonics sector and related applications. He led the IPO of Uniphase and its early acquisition growth that transformed it into an industry leader. He has helped found startups and has a record of initiating and structuring private investments for affiliated equity funds. He has had several part-time operating roles in startups and turnarounds in addition to serving on several Boards of public and private firms. He was a board member and treasurer of OIDA and was co-Chairman of the Executive Forum for the Optical Society of America, a speaker at numerous events including OSA-OFC, OIDA, Photonics West, CLEO, DOE, and other venues on photonics markets and technology investments. Since 2004, he has also been a partner of First Analysis Private Equity Fund.He is a board member of INDO-US MIM Tec Pvt. Ltd., a leading multi-national firm in advanced materials, The College of Science & Engineering of the University of Minnesota, and is an advisor to the NSF-funded Institute of Mathematical Applications, and a member of Princeton’s NSF sponsored MIRTHE Investment Focus Group. He earned an MBA from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology.
