Profile Summary

Dr Jean Martial Mari is Lecturer at the University of French Polynesia. He received the Electrical Engineering diploma of the INSA Lyon, France, in 2000 with a specialization in Signal Processing, a PhD in Acoustics at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (France) in 2004, and his French "Habilitation to Lead Research" (HDR) in 2012. His PhD thesis focused on the acoustical observation of strongly scattering straight micro tools in soft tissue. He was appointed Assistant Lecturer in 2000 and then Lecturer (ATER) in Computer Science in 2003. He joined the Medical Vision Laboratory, University of Oxford, as Research Assistant in 2005 on ultrasound Contrast Agent imaging and quantification of perfusion. He was then appointed Research Associate at the Department of Bioengineering of the Imperial College London, exploring new techniques for the measurement of flows in vessels using ultrasound. Between September 2009 and January 2013 he has been a short term Researcher at Unit 1032 (former 556), an A+ ranking INSERM (French medical research institute) facility, working on ultrasonic telemetry and liposomal drug targeted delivery using focused ultrasound. In 2013, he joined the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering of the University College London as Research Associate, working on Photo-acoustics. He is now working at the University of French Polynesia on Non Destructive Testing using ultrasound Imaging.
