Profile Summary

Dr. Ales Prokes graduated at the Brno University of Technology (BUT) in 1988. Since 1990 he has worked in Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC) BUT. He received the scientific degree Ph.D in the field of generalized sampling theorem applications in 1999 and in 2006 he habilitated and became an Assoc. Prof. He gives lectures in the courses Radio receivers and transmitters, Communication systems and Radio and mobile communications. He is the author or co-author of eight titles of internal textbooks. His research interest includes signal processing in communication systems, nonuniform sampling and signal reconstruction, velocity measurement based on spatial filtering, beam propagation in atmosphere and optical receivers and transmitters for free-space optical communications. He (co)authored over 120 publications, chaired (co)Chaired 2 Conferences and he is the author or co-author of a number FRVS (Development Fund of Czech Universities) and GACR (Grant Agency of the Czech Republic) projects.
