Complex numbers help engineers and scientists better understand the practical world. It is easy for humans to analyze and model systems with inputs in the form of sine or cosine waves such as electric circuits. In this paper, we summarize the fundamental arithmetic properties of complex numbers. First, we review the introduction and definition of complex numbers. Next, we visualize every complex number as a point on the plane.
