The lifting parameters of high explosive cloud are important data source item for calculating explosive cloud diffusion and serve as the start for subsequent cloud diffusion calculations. Furthermore, lifting cloud of air explosion and near-surface explosion is significantly different due to the impact of ground reflected shock waves. In this paper, numerical simulation is applied to calculate the floating cloud which is from high explosive explosion. Two numerical examples are presented with comparisons from the lifting cloud of air explosion and the explosion under the effect of ground reflected shock wave. The simulating results show that the ground reflected shock wave makes significant difference to explosive cloud, and accelerates the turbulent motion which make more serious exchange between floating cloud and surrounding medium. Major physics of the cloud lifting from high explosion can be well captured in the simulation, and lift parameters of high explosive cloud can give good prediction for calculating cloud diffusion and settlement.
