During last years, interest in pulsed magnetic field sensors has widely increased. In fact, magnetic field measurement has
a critical part in various scientific and technical areas. In order to research on pulsed magnetic field characteristic and
corresponding measuring and defending means, a sensor with high immunity to electrical noise, high sensitivity, high
accuracy and wide dynamic range is needed. The conventional magnetic field measurement system currently use active
metallic probes which can disturb the measuring magnetic field and make sensor very sensitive to electromagnetic noise.
Photonic magnetic field sensor exhibit great advantages with respect to the electronic ones: a very good galvanic
insulation, high sensitivity and very wide bandwidth. Photonic sensing technology is fit for demand of a measure pulsed
magnetic field. A type of pulsed magnetic field photonic sensor has been designed, analyzed, and tested. The cross
polarization angle in photonic sensor effect on the signal-to-optical-noise ratio is theoretically analyzed in this paper. A
novel approach for improving the signal-to-optical-noise ratio of pulsed magnetic field sensors was proposed. The
experiments have proved that this approach is practical. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the
signal-to-optical-noise ratio can potentially be considerably improved by setup suitable for the cross polarization angle.
All-optical Networks (AONs) are unique in that they support many optical wavelengths , which use optical amplifiers, optical add/drop multiplexers and optical switches or cross-connects. They contain only optical components and are intrinsically different from optical networks currently being used. Note that many of the security problems present in traditional electronic or electro-optic networks are still to be found in AONs. Moreover, for AONs’s service disruption is most easily achieved in optical amplifies, while the tapping or eavesdropping is most easily achieved through nonlinearities in transmission fiber. These types of attacks on AON will thwart data security. In order to assure information in AONs which have a minimum privacy and quality of service (QoS), this paper presents an analysis of attacks in AONs and propose a conceptual system framework for information assurance in AONs.
Signal regeneration is one of the critical functions for the future long-haul transmission distances in all-optical networks. In this paper, the different realization approaches of all optical regenerators are also presented. The theory of FWM is discussed and the application of FWM in Dispersion-Shifted Fiber based optical 2R regenerator is introduced. A realization approach of Optical 3R Regeneration based on Four Wave Mixing will be proposed.
