1 October 1999 Modeling infrared lunar radiance
Author Affiliations +
Recently I encountered two remote sensing problems that required an estimate of direct lunar radiance at thermal IR wavelengths. One was the calculation of signal levels for atmospheric absorption spectroscopy using the moon as a source,1,2 and the other was the determination of the effect that moon glints have on IR polarization radiometry of water surfaces.3
