An attempt to predict the behavior of some stochastic properties in the transversal section of a planar guide using a classical derivation of a Langevin type equation for the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise in Er3+-doped Ti:LiNbO3 waveguides is presented. The depth distribution of the electric ASE near-field amplitude and field intensity autocorrelation functions are computed along with other coherence quantities such as signal to noise ratio (SNR), field amplitude and the intensity coherence function. The influence of the pump power on the distributed stochastic properties are also studied.
