Abstract
Indium antimonide detectors have been extensively used in high-quality detection systems for three decades. InSb photodiodes have found numerous applications in the defense industry for more than 30 years. Perhaps the best known (and most successful) of these systems has been the Sidewinder air-to-air antiaircraft missile. Manufacturing techniques for InSb are well established, and the invention of CCD and CID devices has increased the interest in this semiconductor.
