Abstract
The previous three chapters discussed factors affecting the quality of displayed images and provided recommended levels for each of several parameters. No single display system necessarily meets all of the desired performance levels, and not all of the performance parameters are equally important. This chapter begins with guidance on monitor and video controller selection, followed by a section on how a display should be set up in terms of environmental controls and perceptual linearization of the monitor response.
