Abstract
We describe the Materials and Components for Missile (MCM) Innovation and Technology Partnership (ITP) programme. The MCM - ITP is an Anglo-French research programme started in 2007 to encourage early stage research in future weapons technology. SELEX Galileo leads the domain related to the Electro-Optic Sensor within future guided weapons. Our objective is to capture cutting edge ideas in the research community and develop them for exploitation in future missile generations. We provide a view of two areas where we believe development of enhanced seeker capability should be focussed. Examples of current research within and outside the ITP that may be harnessed to deliver these capabilities are provided.
