Abstract
In this paper, a novel architecture of the correlator used for high dynamic satellite receivers is proposed. With this architecture, the correlator consists of several acquiring-tracking channels and a quick acquiring-assistant channel. Every acquiring-tracking channel can be used for acquiring and tracking an individual satellite. Moreover, with the quick acquiring-assistant channel, it can quickly acquire a satellite signal, and then track the satellite signal independently. The correlator is used to acquire and track GPS signals. The experiment results show that the correlator can incorporate with microprocessor to realize the function of acquiring and tracking GPS signal quickly and reliably. The results also demonstrate that the architecture of the correlator can be adopted in high dynamic satellite receivers.
