Abstract
A Ku band circularly polarized single-layer U-slot microstrip patch antenna with chamfering at the corners has been proposed in this paper. A parametric study has been carried out to investigate the effects caused by chamfering corners and location of the feeding probe. Simulation results show the bandwidth ( S11 <-10dB) is about 700MHz and the 3dB axial ratio bandwidth of the antenna is 3.7%. At the desired frequency, i.e,14-14.5GHz, the return loss is below -12dB and the axial ratio is below 3dB.
