Phase shaped binary transmission (PSBT) is a kind of duobinary modulation formats. It has narrower
spectrum structure. In this paper, the principle of PSBT format is investigated and its performance in
chromatic dispersion, nonlinearity and polarization mode dispersion (PMD) are studied. The PMD
compensation system is set up and the results show that PMD tolerance is enhanced effectively after
compensation.
