Abstract
Intensity measurements and spectral analysis of hematoporphyrin-derivative fluorescence in bioptic samples from adenomas and adenocarcinoma of the large bowel were performed. Adenoma was found to exhibit a fluorescence signal a little lower than that of carcinoma, but higher than that observed on normal surrounding tissue. The fluorescence of HpD localized in the two lesions differs in the spectral shape. This difference is dependent on the time past after administration.
