Abstract
The objective of this paper is to analyze a marking laser system that uses a diode pumped Ytterbium fiber laser. Starting from the phenomena of heating due to laser irradiation and the spatial profile of deposited energy we try to develop a better marking technique, including the laser-assisted coloring.
