Abstract
The results of radar measurements of ice covers at 2.2 cm and 5.6 cm wavelengths were presented. It is shown that from measurements of backscattering coefficient one can determined concentration of highest water vegetation which is freezing in fresh-water ice cover. For the case of saline ice, the state of upper layers can be determined.
