Abstract
This paper utilizes ontology to define and organize the information objects, data elements and their relations in the domain of earth observation task of satellite. In this paper, we proposes a new method for building domain ontology of earth observation task, it includes five steps: task definition, task disassembly, relation analysis, describing ontology and ontology instantiation. The ontology-based method is effective and reliable for standardization and semantization of earth observation task.
