Abstract
This paper uses a Kalman filter to estimate the optical wavefront from the interferograms produced by a temporally phase-shifted self referencing interferometer (SRI). Four methods of estimation are evaluated with varying noise strengths and frame rates. An extended Kalman filter is shown to outperform other estimation methods and expand the conditions under which a temporal SRI can be utilized.
