Abstract
In this paper, we show a whispering gallery mode coupler utilizing a side-tap structure. Here we choose a microsphere as the resonator. We fabricate this device by standard photolithography. Therefore, it is a on-chip optical device. The coupling efficiency can be as high as 26% by simulation. We fabricate the waveguide by photolithography to increase the stability and mechanical strength. In the end, we also check the physical tolerance and wavelength selectivity.
