Abstract
The supposition about a presence of the secondary emission of a screen edge under the action of the falling radiation in the diffraction phenomenon in optics is put forward. The treatment of a diffraction of light for rectilinear edge of the opaque screen and on a narrow slot is given within the framework of such supposition.
