Abstract
The beam propagation factor (M2-factor) of the 1D decentered Gaussian beam (DGB) has been derived based on the second moment method. It has been then shown that the results can be extended to some novel beams, such as the sinh-Gaussian beam and sine-Gaussian beam etc., which can be regarded as a superposition of two DGBs.
