Abstract
Waves of reflection and conduction (WRC) was found in 1992 as a new reversible photoinduced phenomenon. Here WRC was studied for IR transparent semiconductors ZnS, ZnSe, Ge in the process of optical damage testing of this materials. It was measured the variations of reflected or transmitted beam intensity of the He-Ne and CO2 lasers when WRC pulses generated on the front and rear sample surfaces moved through the sample with velocities of order of sound velocity v1 and approximately 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 of v1 with many reflections. This WRC pulses realize some part of non stationer heat transfer in solids. This WRC component velocities increased up to 2 times with the sample focus region temperature increasing as an effect of the energy pulse growing and different levels of damage occurring. It gives the possibility to develop the technique for the remote nondestructive precatastrophic indications of damage. This work was sponsored by DRET and as project 97- 02-17954 by RFBR.
