Abstract
We propose an architecture for the duplex transmission of microwave/RF signals over a fiber-optic link. The link employs only one laser. The forward channel is implemented through laser intensity modulation, while the reverse channel uses an external modulator. We evaluate insertion gain, linear dynamic range and phase noise degradation for each of the two channels.
