Abstract
Radial line transformers (RLTs) are widely applied to match the impedances of active devices and output waveguides in millimeter wave oscillators. A number of authors have studied the performances of a single RLT in rectangular waveguide theoretically and experimentally [1]-[4]. Since dual-diode oscillators with two mutually coupled RLTs are efficient for power-combining[5]-[6], it is necessary to analyse the structure of this kind of oscillators in order to make the design more accurately. The objective of this paper is to analyse the two mutually coupled RLTs constructed in dual-diode millimeter wave oscillators. The external circuit impedances looking outside from each of the two active de- vices are calculated by a combined technique of Galerkin's method and collocation technique. A large number of numerical results have been obtained. Some original conclusions are derived, which are helpful to the design and the adjustment of the dual-diode oscillators.
