A multi-mode nonlinear analysis and particle simulation code is developed to analyze the generation of radiation at a harmonic of the rotation frequency for a spatiotemporally modulated gyrating electron beam in a cylindrical waveguide. For a device employing 150 kV, 6.7 A cold beam and a 18.8 GHz pump, nonlinear simulations show a 5th harmonic conversion efficiency of 55% at 94 GHz in a linearly tapered magnetic field. A nonlinear magnetic field taper which preserves exact phase matching gives an efficiency of 70%. The efficiency is not sensitive to axial velocity spread.
