Abstract
We give a general review of flow birefringent method and its data processing in this paper. The basic equations and boundary conditions which are suitable to our hybrid method have been derived here. We have compared our new method with other classical methods. As an example, the flow in a step converging tube has been analyzed by this hybrid method at the end of this paper.
