Abstract
Present and more so future FLIR and Imaging Seeker systems exhibit high performance and sensitivity in the order of O.04C and are widely used in field environments. This requires more rigorous testing at a realistic environment, still achieving high accuracies. As a result of these requirements, various factors gain significance as influential to the credibility and understanding of the FLIR testing in the field, the depot and even in the production. The following paper will outline some of the important factors that should be taken into consideration when performing FLIR testing especially MRTD. Not all have a similar contribution to inaccuracies, but all should be evaluated when deciding on test methods and equipment, and during test results evaluation.
