Abstract
A novel inverse design algorithm based on intelligent searching and greedy threshold mechanism is proposed. Compared with the traditional adjoint algorithm, this method does not have the binarization-induced deterioration, and is applicable to any optimization problems, even the objective function cannot be written as an analytic expression. Therefore, it has higher efficiency, stronger operability and wider application scenarios. Based on this inverse design algorithm, ultra-compact low-loss 90-degree bending waveguides and high extinction ratio wavelength-division multiplexers are successful demonstrated.
