Abstract
Real-time intersection control based on actual traffic flow detection data is one of the basic measures to optimize traffic operation, and in the process of green light dissipation of queued vehicles, if the unsaturated headway time distance cannot be effectively judged, it will lead to early interruption of the green light in real-time response control decision, and then affect the control effect. In this paper, we propose a method to determine the unsaturated headway properties of vehicles by using a multi-parameter combination of joint probability, and establish a joint probability model based on the unsaturated headway and average vehicle speed to realize the judgment of unsaturated headway properties in real-time response control. The experimental results show that the method can accurately detect the abnormal headway time distance, and the difference between the calculated results and the real value is within 5%, which is more accurate and reliable compared with the single headway time distance detection method.
