Abstract
Promoting the low-carbon transformation of the tourism industry is a must for its healthy and sustainable development.Calculating carbon dioxide emissions from tourism and analysing their time-series characteristics, as well as studying the relationship between emissions and the tourism economy, can clarify development ideas for the development of low-carbon tourism. In this paper, Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces in Southwest China were selected for the study. It uses the tourism data from 2005 to 2021 to measure the CO2 emissions of the two provinces, and analyses the characteristics of the temporal change of CO2 emissions emissions from 2005 to 2021. At the same time, the decoupling model is used to analyse whether there is a decoupling effect between tourism CO2 emissions and tourism economic growth.
