Abstract
This study established a logistics input-output index system and utilized a three-stage DEA model for statistical and computational purposes to conduct both vertical and horizontal dynamic analyses of logistics panel data from China's Three-North regions (northern China, northeastern China, and northwestern China) from 2016 to 2018, exploring the impact of external factors on logistics efficiency with the aim of providing theoretical basis and policy recommendations for the sustainable development of the logistics industry in the Three-North regions. The results showed that there were significant regional heterogeneities in the development of the logistics industry in the Three-North regions, with the highest efficiency found in the North China region, followed by the Northeast China region, and the lowest efficiency in the Northwest China region. In addition, logistics scale was identified as the main factor limiting the development of the logistics industry in the Three-North regions.
