Abstract
The copolymer of MA/AMPS, an environmental protection treatment agent for circulating cooling water, was synthesized. The scale inhibition performance of MA/AMPS copolymer was studied by static experiments. It was found that the addition of magnetic field can effectively improve the scale inhibition performance of the copolymer. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) showed that the copolymer of MA/AMPS distorted the crystal shape of the calcium carbonate scale samples. The synergistic effect of magnetic field and MA/AMPS copolymer did not significantly change the crystal shape of scaling samples.
