Abstract
Active suspension as an advanced vehicle vibration damping device has important application value, but the current research on the control strategy of the active suspension is mostly based on simulation mode, lacking experimental research. This paper presents a hardware-in-the-loop test research on the 1/4 vehicle active suspension test platform based on hardware-in-the-loop simulation techniques. Active suspension Simulink models of a linear quadratic regulator control strategy and an active suspension based on a modified reference skyhook model sliding mode control strategy are developed. Simulations are carried out under different road excitations (sinusoidal and bump) and the suspension performance evaluation parameters are determined so that the control effect can be evaluated and analyzed. The software for the hardware-in-the-loop test is the QUARC and the hardware consists of a computer, 1/4 vehicle active suspension test platform, data acquisition card and power amplifier. Compared to the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) controlled active suspension, the sliding mode controlled (SMC) active suspension based on the reference skyhook model provides more significant improvements in the suspension performance indicators of sprung mass acceleration, suspension dynamic travel and tire dynamic load. The 1/4 vehicle active suspension hardware-in-the-loop test provides a basis for theory and broadens the research path for non-real vehicle validation.
