Abstract
In recent years, the trans radial approach has become the default way for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) because of its low rate of complications. As the aid of this kind of operation, ultrasound inspection is easily accepted by the vast majority of patients. Among these ultrasound devices, flexible ultrasonic devices can ensure both comfort and stability during detection. In this paper, we introduce a 3 × 1 flexible ultrasonic array with an element size of 1 ×1 mm2 and thickness of 0.4 mm. The simulation result demonstrates an expected acoustic performance of the transducer array, followed by the fabrication of the transducer array using laser micromachining processes. By applying the backing and matching layer to individual array elements, an accurate in vivo radial artery blood flow velocity is derived based on continuous-wave Doppler, which is proved on ultrasound phantom. This transducer array can perfectly fit the wrist contour above the radial artery while implementing real-time measurement of blood flow velocity, which facilitates the evaluation of the instant hemostasis effect during trans radial operations, thus avoiding Radial Artery Occlusion (RAO).
