Abstract
According to the characteristics of infrared and low light level images, an improved non down sampling contourlet transform (INSCT) image fusion method is proposed. The algorithm first performs NSCT transformation on the infrared and low light level images after preprocessing and image registration to obtain the high-frequency coefficients and low-frequency coefficients of the two images, then selects the low-frequency coefficients by using the regional energy maximization method, selects the high-frequency subband coefficients by comparing the difference between the subband neighborhood coefficients and the information entropy distribution eigenvalues, and finally performs insct inverse transformation on the fused coefficients to obtain the fused image. The experimental results show that the algorithm in this paper highlights the thermal radiation characteristics of infrared images subjectively, but also retains the detailed information of microscopic images. At the same time, the objective evaluation index has been improved to varying degrees.
