Abstract
Image stitching is widely used in computer vision where it is often necessary to first manually specify the “left to right” or “right to left” transformation. To solve the problem of evaluating which stitching mode is better, on the basis of studying of SIFT algorithm’s image stitching, this paper calculates the polygons after perspective transformation by analyzing two methods of homography matrices and proposes an measurement that refers to the degree of blurring caused by the oblique angle on the long side of the transformed polygon rectangle as stretching degree. It was used as one of the evaluation index for the quality of image stitching. The experimental results show that this measure can more automatic and robust to choose the better mode of image stitching.
