Abstract
Images collected in bad weather such as fog and haze will be seriously degraded due to the effect of atmospheric scattering. On the one hand, it will make the image color gray-white, the contrast is reduced, and the object features are difficult to identify. On the other hand, it also affect the image of post-processing and so on. Therefore, it is of great theoretical significance and practical value to study more effective dehazing methods. The dark channel prior dehazing algorithm has a good dehazing effect for most scenes, but it is not suitable for the sky region, resulting in severe color distortion and large amount of noise in the sky region. This thesis presents an improved algorithm based on the combination of bright and dark channels and the mean value of fog map. Firstly, the atmospheric luminous value is calculated by using the method of combining bright and dark channels, which makes the calculated atmospheric luminous value more robust. Secondly, for the fog retention parameter, the mean value of the fog map divided by the mean value of the bright channel was taken to solve the single weight problem to make the fog removal clear and natural. Finally, the transmittance threshold is constrained by the mean value of dark channel in normalized fog map to complete the clearness processing of foggy images. Experimental results show that the improved algorithm solves the problems of color distortion and noise in the sky region, and gets natural clear image.
