Abstract
The space programs of the 90's and beyond will employ sophisticated I with high resolution and high data rates . Temporary storage of this data on-board the satellites is an important function. The NASA Spaceflight Optical Disk Recorder (SODR) , currently under development for these future space missions, utilizes advanced techniques and concepts to satisfy these needs.
