Abstract
We propose a reconfigurable mode (de)multiplexer based on a thermo-optic asymmetric directional coupler for (de)multiplexing both LP01-LP11a modes and LP01-LP11b modes. Simulation results show that, for TE(TM) polarization, with a heating power of 35.8 mW, the coupling efficiency of LP01-LP11a is 99.56% (98.43%); with a heating power of 53.2 mW, the coupling efficiency of LP01-LP11b is 98.76% (89.59%).
