Abstract
The rapid increase in the number of novice drivers has created serious traffic safety problems. Compared to experienced drivers, novice drivers are more likely to be involved in accidents. The study of the accident characteristics of novice drivers is of great importance for novice driver safety training and accident prevention. This paper analyses the traffic accident characteristics of novice drivers by mining traffic accident data, explores the accident scenarios in which novice drivers are involved in traffic accidents, and filters out the scenarios that are most likely to lead to accidents involving novice drivers according to the random forest algorithm. The study provides theoretical support for the selection of intervention scenarios in further novice driver risk perception intervention studies and has important implications for novice driver crash prevention.
