Abstract
Traditional courtyard construction not only reflect the plain view of nature, but also well meet the human requirement of comfort. With the help of actual measurement and CFD digital technology, we did research on environment-friendly perspective of Huizhou traditional residential courtyard. We apply ECOTECT simulation software to analyze microenvironment state of different types of Huizhou traditional residential courtyard. The result show that essential factors such as courtyard orientation, enclosure form, spatial layout have significant impact on micro-environment state of traditional residential courtyard. Huizhou traditional residential courtyard have excellent characteristics of defense against the cold wind and keep warm in winter and ventilate and cool down in room in summer. These characteristics show that the courtyard could keep coexist with environment and provide ideas for modern courtyards design.
