Abstract

The arrival of the microprocessor on the digital computing scene has created an entirely new philosophy for the electronics industry. In this paper we will be concerned with software structure from a systems standpoint. A number of these structures will be examined in some detail for an application of their conditional characteristics. Three distributive software systems, the Dedicated System, the Non-Dedicated System, and the Hybrid System, will be discussed in a conceptual fashion. Advantages and disadvantages of each will be noted. Finally, the application of distributive microprocessor networks to the specific field of reconnaissance scanning is introduced from a conceptual viewpoint.
