Abstract
In July 2018 the Space Hiperspectral Spectrometer DESIS has been situated on one of platform of the International Space Station. The entrance of the system is equipped with the Pointing Unit (POI) system which directs optical signal from a given direction to detector by reflection without changing of attitude of a whole instrument. The Pointing Unit of DESIS has been designed to work in two operational modes. The first one called Earth Observation mode orients Line of Sight (LoS) of the spectrometer in one of five positions and second one called ‘Time Domain Integration’ mode compensates a speed of the ISS to keep line of sight in one point of observation. In this work we present advances in development of driver system of the pointing unit. The main function of POI system is to rotate the mirror which mass is 2kg in the working range of 115 degrees with accuracy and repeatability of positioning on the level of 0.001deg reaching the target position in time less than 5 seconds. In the work we present the procedure developed for minimization of the angular velocity errors in TDI mode by optimization of PWM parameters which controls currents in stepper motor coils. Moreover selected features and properties of DESIS POI system are shown.
