Abstract

An expert system which supports unexperienced users in the application of the SPIDER image processing software package is described in this paper. The proposed structure of the knowledge base allows a generalized approach to software configuration expert systems whicn is applicable in other problem domains, too. The system has been completely implemented and tested on a number of problems.
