Abstract
Neural networks, and optical neural networks in particular, hold great promise in the industrial environment. We examine three generic applications here. These are process control, work flow control, and inspection. In all of these cases, optical neural networks have the potential of performing tasks now performed quite imperfectly by humans and performing those tasks far more effectively.
